About:

To contribute to saving and preserving lives and alleviating the acute needs of crisis-affected populations, especially young children, pregnant and lactating women and the elderly.

Basic health, WASH, Nutrition, MHPPS services for IDPs and vulnerable conflict-affected local populations are improved in a need- and gender-responsive manner
 

Examples of our interventions in the project:

Basic health care

Training of local health workers as well as preparation and implementation of emergency interventions

Provision of basic medical and non-medical equipment and consumables in health facilities and for community-based health workers

Rehabilitation/construction/repair of WASH infrastructure in local health facilities and provision of equipment for maintenance and upkeep

WASH

Establishment of community WASH committees and training and accountability of members. 

Emergency measures for access to clean water, sanitation and waste management

Rehabilitation/construction/rape repair of water supply points and sanitation facilities and provision of appropriate basic equipment

Awareness campaigns on infection prevention and control of WASH-borne diseases.

Nutrition

Reduced acute malnutrition among children under 5 and pregnant and lactating women through strengthened local structures and mechanisms for prevention, surveillance, early detection, diagnosis, referral and treatment of acute malnutrition

MHPPS/SGBV

Improve and preserve the mental health and psychosocial well-being of survivors of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) through strengthened local structures and mechanisms for SGBV monitoring, prevention, mental health medical treatment, psychosocial support and referral for mental health medical treatment of SGBV survivors.
